The project lasts three years and during each year the partner schools will study the historical, artistic and environmental patrimonies of two countries. This way every year two countries play the part of leaders of the others and each one is a leader for a three-four month period. During the school year 2006-2007 the leading schools have been first Scotland and then Spain.

At the beginning of each phase the leading school draws up a questionnaire regarding the misconceptions about their own country. For instance: the Spanish can all sing and dance flamenco, the Germans drink beer all day long, the Italians only eat spaghetti – by the way, it’s true!!!
;-)
and Scottish men wear a kilt in their everyday life.

Students are asked to complete a questionnaire, which will gauge their perceptions of different cultures, history, stereotypes and ideas about lifestyles within the partner states and the European Union. They will complete a second questionnaire on completion of the project and then be asked to provide a personal statement, which will discuss any changes in their perception over the duration of the project.
